Custom Prescription Lenses
At Van den Broek Optiek, we take great pride in the precision and quality of our custom-manufactured lenses. Because each set of lenses is ground and treated specifically to your unique optical prescription and frame measurements, they are considered a personalized medical product. Under Dutch consumer law and industry standards, custom-made items are not eligible for a standard refund or return once production has begun. We encourage all clients to verify their frame selection and lens options during the home consultation, as all sales of prescription lenses are final once the order is placed with our laboratory.

Our 30-Day Fit & Vision Guarantee
While custom lenses cannot be returned for a refund, your visual comfort is our highest priority. We offer a 30-Day Fit & Vision Guarantee on every pair of glasses we deliver. If you experience persistent visual distortion, headaches, or physical discomfort with your new prescription within the first thirty days, please contact us immediately. We will schedule a follow-up consultation at your location to re-verify your measurements and adjustment. If a manufacturing error or a prescription discrepancy is identified, we will replace the lenses at no additional cost to you to ensure your vision is perfectly clear.

Frame Exchanges
If you have purchased a non-prescription frame or a “frame-only” order, you may request an exchange or return within fourteen days of delivery, provided the item is in its original, unworn condition with all packaging and tags intact. However, once a frame has been fitted with custom prescription lenses, it can no longer be returned for a refund as the frame has been modified for your specific use. In the rare event that a frame is found to have a structural manufacturing defect, it is covered under our comprehensive two-year manufacturer’s warranty, and we will facilitate a repair or replacement of the part at no charge.

Cancellations and Refunds
Orders for eyewear are processed quickly to ensure a fast delivery turnaround. If you wish to cancel an order, you must contact us within twenty-four hours of your home consultation. Once the laboratory has begun the surfacing and coating process for your lenses, the order can no longer be canceled. Refunds for non-custom items or services will be processed via the original payment method within seven to ten business days. Please note that service fees for home eye examinations and travel costs are non-refundable, as they cover the professional time and diagnostic expertise provided during your appointment.

Accidental Damage and Maintenance
Our return policy does not cover accidental damage, loss, or theft once the eyewear has been delivered into your possession. This includes scratches to the lenses caused by improper cleaning, frames bent by accidental pressure, or loss of the product. To help you maintain your investment, we provide a professional cleaning kit and a protective case with every purchase. Additionally, we offer complimentary adjustments for the lifetime of your glasses; if your frames become loose or misaligned over time, simply reach out to schedule a brief maintenance visit.
